Palau de la Virreina

All those interested in art and everything that involves the image, can’t miss this baroque´s jewel. Since 1980 has been hosting multiples contemporary art exhibitions. In 2007 the exhibition center Virreina began a new stage as Image Center. Since then, its programming has gone through photography, audiovisual, electoral spots, book publishing, literary festivals, talks or digital documentation, among others.


Did you know…

In 1776, Manuel de Amat i Junient, Castellbell Marquis, returned to Barcelona with a great fortune. As a token of his wealth he build this sumptuous palace between 1772 and 1778. The premature death of Amat, made that the palace was occupied by his widow, Maria Francesca de Fiveller i Bru, reason why was known as Palace of the Virreina.

Tuesday to Sunday and holidays from 12 (noon) to 8pm.
Closed: January 1st, May 1st, 25th and 26th December.
